Terms and Conditions

Please ensure that you are fully informed about the terms and conditions of Tsala Trails when using the website or any of our services.

Tsala Trails trades as TSALA TRAILS and will be referred to as TSALA TRAILS on all relevant platforms and in correspondence and documents. By using the TSALA TRAILS website and any part thereof (“site”), you indicate that you have read the terms and conditions below and accept to be bound by them.



These terms and conditions are subject to change without further notice. Continued use of this site constitutes acceptance of any updates.

1. General
The headings in this document are for ease of reference only and do not affect the interpretation of any clause.

2. Privacy Statement
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for how Tsala Trails collects, stores, and uses your information. We take your privacy seriously.

3. Copyright
All content is © 2023–2025 Tsala Trails. All rights reserved.

4. Licenses and Site Access
Tsala Trails grants users limited access for personal use. You may not:

  • Resell or use content for commercial purposes;

  • Copy or use listings, descriptions, or images;

  • Use data mining tools or automated extraction methods.

5. Linking Policy
You may link to our site in a way that is fair and legal. You may not use our logo or brand assets without written permission.

6. User Conduct
By using this site, you agree not to:

  • Disrupt services or access unauthorized content;

  • Upload malicious code or spam;

  • Violate any applicable laws;

  • Misuse site infrastructure or communications.

7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Tsala Trails against any claims or losses arising from your use of the site or breach of these terms.

8. Submissions
Any materials you submit become the property of Tsala Trails. We reserve the right to use them freely without compensation.

9. Communication Disclaimer
Digital communications may contain errors or malware. Tsala Trails is not liable for issues arising from such communications.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
All services and content are provided “as is.” We make no guarantees of uninterrupted service or complete accuracy of content.

11. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the site or our services. Liability is limited to the value of the service purchased.

13. User’s Liability to Tsala Trails
In the case of legal action, you agree to cover all associated legal and recovery costs incurred by Tsala Trails.

14. Prices
All prices are listed in South African Rands (ZAR) and include 15% VAT. Rates are quoted per person, per package, and may be adjusted without notice.

15. Payment Terms

  • 50% of the booking total is due at time of booking.

  • The remaining 50% is due 30 days before arrival (2 days prior for half-day packages).

  • Failure to pay the balance may result in cancellation without refund.

12. Termination
We may revoke your access to the site at any time without notice.

16. Payment Methods

  • All bookings and payments are processed manually.

  • Accepted payment methods: EFT (wire transfer) and PayFast.

  • Always confirm Tsala Trails’ banking details with a staff member before transferring funds.

  • We are not responsible for intercepted or incorrect payments.

17. Age and Fitness Requirements

  • Participants must be aged 12 to 70.

  • Guests over 70 are welcome with a medical certificate confirming physical fitness.

  • Children under 12 may not join safaris due to safety and insurance limitations.

  • Partner lodges do not offer babysitting services.

  • Guests must be in good health and able to walk unaided, with no ankle or mobility impairments.

18. Language
All wildlife interpretations and briefings are conducted in English. A translator may be arranged at an additional cost with at least 2 weeks’ advance notice.

19. Inclusions and Exclusions

Rates Include:

  • Guided walking safaris in remote, pristine wilderness;

  • Luxury lodge accommodation (except for half-day packages);

  • Private Trails Guide throughout your safari;

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner as per itinerary;

  • Soft drinks and hot beverages;

  • Game reserve entrance fees;

  • Inter-reserve transport (if included in itinerary);

  • Backpack with water bladder;

  • Trekking poles on request;

  • South African VAT (15%).

Rates Exclude:

  • Flights or other transport to/from pick-up/drop-off points;

  • Accommodation before or after your package dates;

  • Alcoholic beverages at lodges;

  • Any increase in government taxes or reserve fees;

  • Travel insurance and visas.


20. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Guest Cancellations:

  • 90+ days before safari: No cancellation fee

  • 61–90 days: 10% cancellation fee *

  • 31–60 days: 50% cancellation fee *

  • 0–30 days: 100% cancellation fee

*Cancellation fees may be applied as credit toward future bookings.

Tsala Trails Cancellations:
If minimum guest numbers are not met, Tsala Trails reserves the right to cancel a scheduled safari. Guests will be notified by email 30 days in advance (2 days for half-day safaris) and receive a full refund. Bank processing may take 5–10 working days.

21. Transaction & Service Fees
Transaction/service fees are non-refundable. Tsala Trails will cover these fees when receiving payments via EFT or PayFast, but they are not reimbursed in case of cancellation or refund.

22. Refunds
Refunds are granted at the sole discretion of Tsala Trails following a fair case review.

23. Records of Transactions
Clients may request booking and transaction records. Records older than 5 years may not be available.

24. Applicable Law
These terms are governed by South African law. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of South African courts.
